It highlights the paradox of the Lord appearing as a mendicant, emphasizing the deep devotion and surrender of the composer. Oh Venkateswara, the Lord of Lakshmi, you are the Supreme Being. Why do you hesitate to show mercy upon me? I am not Kubera, the friend of Lord Shiva, to offer you immense wealth. I am not King Janaka to present you with a noble daughter like Sita. I am not Sugriva, the king of the Vanaras, to provide you with a vast army. Oh primordial Lord Venkateswara, will you not show compassion towards me? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER : These songs have been uploaded for hearing pleasure only and as an archive for Carnatic music.
