Kyoto is famous for its various Buddhist temples, as well as traditional gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and charming wooden houses. It’s also known for formal traditions such as kaiseki dining, consisting of multiple courses of precise dishes, and geisha (female entertainers often found in the Gion district). Kyoto is situated on the island of Honshu. It is well renowned for its profound cultural heritage, stunning temples and shrines (like Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and Fushimi Inari Taisha (torii gates)), exquisite gardens, traditional geisha districts (Gion), refined cuisine (kaiseki), beautiful seasonal scenery (cherry blossoms/autumn leaves), and as a center for arts, crafts, and education, preserving traditional Japan within a modern city. Let's dive further into our 5 Days #kyoto itinerary of what can be seen in early autumn in September. Day 1 : Start the day for your Arashiyama day trip. You should plan this trip after lunch as it involves lots of walking and if you waste time in crowded restaurants in the starting of your trip then you will miss a lot of places being crowd free during afternoon time. Several Buses from Kyoto Station takes you to Arashiyama (1-2 hr trip depending on your hotel's location). Stop1 : Once the bus drops you near the Katsura river, try to enter one of the alleys by searcing "Saga Toriimoto Town" on gmaps. You will find a pretty peaceful town all by yourself. It takes around 1-2hours to stroll in it. Stop2 : On the way you can see Giōji Temple, Nenbutsu-ji Temple, Jōjakkōji Temple which you can visit for a small enterance fees. They are worth it if the weather is really good and you want to see crazy green or autumn foilage scenaries inside a temple. Stop3 : Ogura Pond - A very small lotus pond you can admire which will anyways come on your way back down to Katsura River. Stop4: Katsura Imperial Palace - If you have enough time left for the rest of the day and you like visiting palaces, its definetely worth visiting with a fees of 1000yen. Best time to visit it though is peak autumn foilage in November. Stop5: Arashiyama Bamboo Forest - A really overrated bamboo forest I must say, but worth visiting for first timers as its anyways free and will come in your way. Its said to be more worth visiting on lantern festival times during night. Stop6: Katsura River - Best place of Arashiyama, with breathtaking scenary, so calm and peaceful water and amazing boating experience before you head back home. Stay tuned as we move forward for the rest of the journey and travel Kyoto slow and beyond the touristy over crowded spots. #japan #travelvlog #kyoto #tokyo #japanitinerary #autumn #osaka
