In this video we see trains at Heathcote Junction, a small station on the Seymour line north of Melbourne. Here we see a variety of different V/Line trains including Sprinter DMU's and N Class locomotive hauled trains. We also see the Melbourne-bound Apex/Hanson quarry train as it climbs up the bank. Heathcote Junction is located at the summit of the Great Dividing Range, hence steep banks on either side of the station. Heathcote Junction opened in March 1890 and was once the junction of the Heathcote Line which at one stage ran all the way to Bendigo. The station is very basic with minimal facilities, with the citybound platform being only long enough for two carriage trains. It's likely the least-patronised station on the line as it's situated less than 2km away from Wandong station (which is in the centre of town). Most of the clips were recorded during the day, whilst the last two were recorded at night. They were recorded while I was waiting for the Rochester Ballast Train, which unfortunately was running late after missing it's path so I didn't get to see it here.
