Event abstract Research Integrity is now a priority issue, but how does this connect to open science? Long event description The relationship between open science and research integrity is a complex one. While open science encourages researchers to share their research outputs more openly and perhaps less selectively, the currency of research impact has resulted in significant global growth in the number of publications, but the quality of that output has been compromised by the rise of predatory publishing and paper mills fuelled by pay-to-publish models. Building transparency and greater validation into the research production process is a key part of the solution. The focus of this presentation will be on the interplay between open science and research integrity, and will ask – what can publishers do to help to safeguard and build trust in research? The presentation will include case studies from Taylor & Francis Group.
