Today I head out onto a frozen pond and try something a little different — building a windbreak using trees and plastic wrap to block the wind and hold in heat. With the cold biting and the wind cutting through, I set up a small fire, make a seat, drill some holes, and try my luck fishing while staying warm. This trip turns into a two-day experiment on the ice. I test a homemade wind wall, cook bannock over the fire, brew chaga tea, and see if this simple setup can actually make winter fishing more comfortable. No fancy shelter. No heated hut. Just trees, plastic wrap, fire, and whatever I can make work out there. 👉 Would you try this setup on the ice? 👉 Have you ever built a windbreak like this?
