This album was previously highlighted with 'The Wizard of Alderley Edge', now we have it in its entirety. The local Cheshire connections enticed me to this record, but it's got a lot going for it beyond that as well. It's a cosy, endearing and relaxing album, a good one for a cold night when the wind's howling outside and you're inside, warm, with a good book and a not-so-wee dram or a brew (whisky for me, thank you!) It's worth noting that 'The Wife of Usher's Well' has some minor audio errors; I gave the record another clean and gave the stylus a quick going over with the gel after noticing that, then started recording it over again but the weird chirping noises persisted, in the chorus each time, so it might be an issue with the pressing, or some minor damage that cleaning fluid and a cloth can't sort out.
