After about 16 days of careful incubation in the Loquat tree, the moment we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived. In Episode 6, we witness the incredible transition from "coffee-bean" eggs to living, breathing Anna’s Hummingbirds. These hatchlings are born blind, almost featherless, and weigh only about 0.3 grams—that’s less than a single paperclip! It’s amazing to think that in just a few weeks, these tiny, dark "nubs" will grow the iridescent feathers and powerful wings we’ve seen in earlier episodes. In this episode, you’ll see: A Mother’s Care: Watch the her first feedings of "bug-nectar soup." Tiny Scale: See the hatchlings side-by-side with a jujube fruit or a penny to truly appreciate how small they are at birth. Fun Fact: Don't be alarmed by the feeding! The mother's long beak is perfectly designed to deliver food directly to the chicks' crops safely.
