Guests Dan, Cole and Lewis joined us for a Wildlife Tracking and Conservation Horse Pack Trip at Spruce Lake. Watch their video review of their trip with Wilderness Trails. On this five day wildlife tracking and conservation horse pack trip, our guests journeyed to Spruce Lake where they learned all the skills they needed to spend a few days in the wilderness. They connected to nature by viewing grizzly bears. They practiced self-sufficiency by catching fish from Spruce Lake and harvesting wild edibles such as wild potatoes and wild onion which they cooked over the campfire. The group contributed to conservation by learning about the endangered white bark pine tree and completing a white bark pine assessment. For personal development, they learned new skills such as saddling, packing the horse and how to survive in the back-country. Learning about different flora and fauna increased the group's awareness of the Chilcotin Ark and learning new wilderness skills brought them a sense of empowerment.
