My Oster DuraCeramic Rice Cooker: Cooking Steel Cut Oats (Rinsed)

In this video I demonstrate my first attempt making steel cut oats in my rice cooker. To keep boil overs to a minimum, I rinsed the oats thoroughly before cooking. I believe this helped keep it less messy. However, this type of oatmeal may need some babysitting rather than setting & forgetting the rice cooker. Stirring occasionally also helped. The oats I made were cooked perfectly and evenly. It was tender with a little bit of chew, what steel cut oats are famous for. Delicious! *Note: I do not know how steel cut oats will behave in other rice cooker models. I can only speak from my own experience with my Oster model.
