Save Coffee County Tennessee is a non profit organization in Tennessee that is opposed to changes in zoning laws. If passed by a board of 21 Commissioners, it would open all rural areas of Coffee County to become rock quarries. This is a short clip from a project I am working on. The films purpose is to bring awareness to the dangers that a rock quarries will bring to the residents of Coffee County, TN. Dust generated by quarrying can contain silica. Silica is naturally found in certain types of stone, rock, sand and clay. Working with these materials can create a very fine dust that can be easily inhaled. There is no protection for people who live near quarries. Once depleted of their desired resources, quarries are frequently abandoned. The resulting gaping holes can fill with water and form dangerous quarry lakes while others are turned into unsightly landfills. The constant operation of the quarries involve rock crushing, asphalt and cement production, as well as constant truck operation on community roads and highways. The danger to other vehicles, the roads, and people is not acceptable. I hope this film will shed some light on the subject as well as help influence the decision on opening up the pristine natural beauty of Coffee County to corporate interests that would rather destroy it all for a quick buck. Once a rock quarry is in place, there is no going back and the land is erased forever. Stop the quarries and SAVE COFFEE COUNTY. https://www.savecoffeecountytn.com / 437754667602726 Joseph Wilson Productions #NoQuarries #NoAsphalt #NOQ1 Filmed on location in Beautiful Coffee County, Tennessee Special thanks to: Lenisa Blair Quinn Sullivan Kathy Swanson Christie Conlee Jenny McKee Aubrey Majors & Levi Cinemaphotography & Editing Joseph Wilson Location Scouting & transportation Lenisa Blair Thank you for taking the time to watch My dream is to wake those that continue to sleep as our planet is destroyed
