Distracted driver ditched car on the Kjölur route, F35 in Iceland

On the 7th day of my trip I drove the famous Kjölur route, F35, all the way from its start near Gullfoss to Varmahlíð in the North. Early in the day I came across this ditched car. The person driving apparently took their eyes off the road, distracted by the beautiful scenery. The person you see driving the car is not the person who ditched it, the car rental people brought a replacement vehicle and sent her on her way. They were not pleased with the situation and said it happens "all too often". Be safe out there.
