This is a compilation of clips showing trains in Ireland recorded in 2012. It is part of a series that will cover the period 2007 to 2014, and this is the second part looking at 2012. There is a variety of short and long clips as they were recorded in between taking photographs, which was my primary interest back then. Also, as these clips were recorded nearly a decade ago, the video quality for a lot of the clips is only 480p. Hopefully they may still be of interest. In the Dublin area, passenger services were being operated by the DART EMUs, or 22000 and 29000 DMUs beyond the limits of the wires. Some 22000s in their original 6-car formation appear here. Most of the rest of the video shows the Enterprise in various locations between Dublin and Drogheda. This was a period when the sets were still without Mark 3 generator vans, and the locos were in a variety of liveries and operating at full power. The other train to dominate this video is the Tara Mines zinc-ore workings. A number of RPSI tours make an appearance, featuring steam loco 461 hauling Cravens coaches. Outside of the Enterprise, Northern Ireland Railways appear in the form of locomotive 8113 departing Dundalk station with some ballast hoppers.
