To think I was still listening to "Candy Land" back in 1968 , a complete travesty ! My parents 45 collection consisted of , . . .they didn't have one ! But oddly, they had a scant album collection which consisted of one album by Bob Newhart...a couple of albums by The Seekers, My mom bought every Nana Mouskouri album she could find and then there was the dreaded "THE SOUND OF MUSIC" ! The Hills are alive ... with the sound of Muuuu sic ! Please don't tell me I know the rest of the words to that song ? With songs they have sung ..... for a thousand years ! YUP I DO ! My parents never did listen to the radio that much and I guess I was content in the 60's to listen to my Candy Land album. My cousin and her husband had this HUGE Rock album collection, but I wasn't allowed to browse thru their collection, as some of the album covers were a little too graphic for my little eyes at the time. That didn't stop me and my brother from sneaking in and looking at it anyway..... Whoa ! I won't say what I saw, butt it was very eye-opening ! Is it hot in here, or is it just me ? Where was I ? 13 Debuts in the lower half of the chart spurred another exciting week in the Top 40. Another 6 Songs debut in the Top 40 including the song that makes the biggest jump in the TOP 80 ! The oldest song in the TOP 80 has spent the majority of it's chart life below the Top 40 and who formed his own band back when he was in high school and wound up touring for Dick Clark ? Last week : Donovan climbed a notch to #3 with "Hurdy Gurdy Man". Up 4 to #2 "Hello, I Love You" by the Doors and putting the pedal to the metal and racing up 4 to #1 "Classical Gas" by Mason Williams. Will Mason Williams keep Classical Gas parked at #1 or will the Doors knock him out of the #1 Spot ? Get it ... Knock ! Door ! god i'm good ! LOLOLOL !
