(1 Mar 2026) RESTRICTION SUMMARY: ASSOCIATED PRESS Amman, Jordan – 1 March 2026 1. Wide of news conference including Jordanian Minister of Government Communication and spokesperson, Mohammad al-Momani and his Syrian counterpart Hamza al-Mustafa 2. Wide of camera opreators 3. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Mohammad al-Momani, Jordanian Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson: “I reiterate, in light of the ongoing regional events, our strongest condemnation of the targeting of Jordanian territory by Iranian missiles, as well as the targeting of the territories of other brotherly Arab states. We expressed this yesterday in various statements, and we reaffirm it today. We utterly condemn these unacceptable actions." 4. Wide of al-Momani and al-Mustafa during news conference 5. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Mohammad al-Momani, Jordanian Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson: “In such situations, we in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan immediately activated our emergency plans. Since yesterday, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Energy have both activated their emergency plans. Gas supplies have been cut off since the beginning of the crisis; the gas that used to come to us through various channels has stopped arriving in Jordan. Consequently, we have activated our alternative plans, which are in place for such situations. The Ministry of Tourism, of course, also has its procedures in place for such a case, as does the Ministry of Transport. Therefore, our position has always been to de-escalate and prioritize dialogue, as this will restore normalcy." 6. Wide of al-Mustafa and al-Momani during news conference 7. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Hamza al-Mustafa, Syrian Minister of Information: “Regarding the official Syrian position, it was clear and explicit in the statement issued yesterday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemning the Iranian attacks on the territories of brotherly Arab states, whether in the Gulf states or the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and calling for prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy and preventing any escalation in the region." 8. Wide of news conference 9. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Hamza al-Mustafa, Syrian Minister of Information: "This is generally the official Syrian position, a position consistent with Syria's new vision that it wants to be a positive element of stability in the region and looks forward to focusing on stability, growth, and economic development for its people without becoming embroiled in further conflicts. Therefore, Syria is always keen to develop relations with all neighboring countries, trying to look to the future and largely not dwell on the past." 10. Wide of al-Mustafa and al-Momani during news conference STORYLINE: Syrian Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa met with his Jordanian counterpart Mohammad al-Momani in Amman on Sunday and condemned recent Iranian attacks in the region. After the initial strikes, Iran immediately launched missiles and drones toward Israel and into Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. Several projectiles were seen being intercepted in the skies of Amman on Saturday night. Al-Momani added that Jordan had activated its emergency plans in the energy, tourism, and transportation sectors. He added that gas supplies to Jordan had been halted due to the ongoing crisis.
