Anybody who has ever hear about hiring people or have been a part of the hiring team or even remotely connected to hiring would call that process recruitment even you, right? What is important to understand is that Recruitment is just a small part of Talent Acquisition and most people including myself until recently didn't know or try to understand what is the difference between talent acquisition and recruitment. I started to think about it when I got asked the question, "Do you know what is the difference between talent acquisition and recruitment?!" I have to say that I was ashamed that I didn't know the answer right there and then. Most importantly I never even cared to find out. So I went online and did a little bit of "research" into different articles, stories, case studies and once I started thinking about it I realized that I knew all of the differences and that I have been mostly doing Talent Acquisition than Recruitment. A few things just to help you understand why is the difference. First of all, recruitment is part of talent acquisition. Secondly, Talent Acquisition is more about a long-term strategy and planning as opposed to more reactive recruitment where you "react" based on the open position at that moment. If you are looking to be a part of Talent Acquisition, it is important to understand what is the difference between Talent Acquisition and Recruitment because if there is no clear understanding you will not be able to make a long-term strategy and have effective talent acquisition, great employer brand, amazing candidate NPS (Net Promoter Score), and great KPI results.
