Khwaja Ubaydullah al-Ahrar Samarkandi RA Khwaja Ubaydullah Ahrar (RA) was a great Naqshbandi Sufi master, born in Samarkand in 1404 CE (807 AH). He became one of the most influential spiritual figures of Central Asia during the Timurid era. He was known not only for his deep spiritual insight and Islamic scholarship, but also for his role in advising rulers and promoting justice. Despite his wealth and influence, he lived a humble life and supported the poor and scholars generously. Khwaja Ahrar emphasized inner purification, remembrance of Allah (dhikr), and serving humanity. His teachings left a deep impact on the Naqshbandi Sufi order, which spread far across the Islamic world.
