Amtrak celebrated 50 years of service in 2021by painting up 6 locomotives in commemorative paint schemes. One of these units, Amtrak P42DC locomotive 160, wears a special version of the classic Phase III livery that has been given the nickname of "Dash-8 Phase III". In this third episode of Heritage Unit Profiles, we will take a look at this special scheme and its origins. Later on, we follow the locomotive leading Amtrak's Empire Builder on several different occasions across the northern United States.
