Vou’s Story – A Call for Help from the Tongan Community Vou is a 64-year-old Tongan father who once ran his own businesses in tree trimming and cement work. Like many others, he lost everything after the 2008 stock market crash. Since then, he’s been trying to rebuild his life, but the journey has been incredibly hard. For the past 10 years, he’s been homeless—with no real support system to help him or his family get back on their feet. Through it all, Vou has remained kind, humble, and always willing to help others. Even in his own struggle, he gives what little he has to those around him—especially other homeless people. His heart has never changed. He just needs a helping hand. I’m reaching out to the Tongan community and to anyone in the Bay Area, California—especially near Oakland or Bay Point. If you own a family business or know of any job opportunities, please consider giving Vou a chance. He has experience in labor, landscaping, and construction.
