We try our best to write accurate posts, convey our excitement, and also educate those wishing to learn about moose. We think today’s video is an integral part of this whole journey. Looking back, we’ve had adventures with Grumpy, Drop Tine, Mr T, Swagger, Boris, Left Hook, King James, 22 and MisMatch…and others of course…But in the fall of 2019 we watched a tiny little 2 year old bull tussle with bulls older than himself, he was quite the character for sure and we watched him the following two years as he grew from 2 to 4 years old. But it was 2022 when things went crazy. We’ve done year to year stories on 23 before but today’s focuses on the past 4 rut seasons. To say his growth has been unusual is an understatement. I’d like to point out that I think his growth is unique considering the genetics in his area. He stands out in his area. He’s a very big dude. There is no narration today, just natural sounds and sights. Let’s sit back and watch this bull navigate through the years. Watch for the “year change” popping up on the screen. This is the only 70 inch bull we have ever seen. I will say this. We watched him in 2022 at five years old lacking the confidence but also being wise enough to stay out of Psycho Swagger’s way, lol. But, watch closely in 2023’s footage as he dethrones Swagger and has never looked back since. One last comment. 23 in 2025! This is a big boy rack this year. This set of antlers is at another level. A close friend of mine with significant moose knowledge explained it to me. And I’m soaking it up like a sponge. Enjoy! Thanks for watching our channel, we are the husband/wife team of Rick and Libby Libbey, (Libby squared), New Hampshire wildlife photographers (and part time Alaska.) It is our passion to document wildlife of any kind, but moose are definitely at the top. In New Hampshire we spend a lot of our spring/summer hours in kayaks photographing loons and moose in the waters of New Hampshire. And hike many miles in Alaska seeking all manner of wildlife in the fall. To find much more of our content about Nikon/Sony gear, techniques, and all things wildlife, click on the links below.
