Welcome To the first installment of Toddler Chef with Yitzchak! Today we are making play dough. Yitzchak is 15 months old and loves being involved in the kitchen. We cook together as a way to connect. He especially loves pouring and is working right now on more accuracy with larger and heavier containers. I am working on letting the messes happen without intervening when he pours. Here's the recipe if you want to make with your kids too: 6 tablespoons salt 1 teaspoon cream of tartar 1 cup flour 1 tablespoon olive oil 3/4 cup water Stir all ingredients in a saucepan. Then cook on the stove on medium heat until the ingredients form a ball. Yitzchak did not do this part. Your play dough is ready once it cools! You can also add food coloring before cooking or essential oils after. We decided to keep it simple since this was our first time making play dough. We only had whole wheat flour but white flour is preferable. Store in an airtight container between play! Have you made play dough? What other concoctions would you like to see on Toddler Chef?
