Health minister responds to allegations of misused Global Fund money

The ministry of health has responded to the Global Fund Audit report, apologizing for not having documented evidence to show how part of the funds were spent. The minister for health Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye issued the apology in Kampala. The report noted that there is low absorption of the grant funds sent to the country. It notes that only 46% of funds disbursed to the ministry of finance between January 2013 and June 2015 had been spent at the time of the audit.
