A musical postcard with the song Lásko, Bože, lásko (Love, God, love) flies this time from the Natural Theater in Divoká Šárka in Prague. I am glad that the baritone Vladimír Müller became a guest in this postcard, for which I thank him very much. Vladimír is a graduate of the Prague Conservatory under professor Valentin Prelát. He has been working on theater stages since 2011. He first performed in the Vinohradský theater and now you can see him on the stage of the State Opera in Prague. In addition, he also performs in concert performances. The first performance took place in the natural amphitheater in Divoká Šárka in 1913. It was The Bartered Bride. Opera performances return to the theater, which was out of operation for decades and overgrown with trees, but only once a year. On May 16, 1913, thousands of people enjoyed the production of The Bartered Bride in Šárec's Natural Theater above Čertovým Mlýnem. The theater was founded by theater artists Emil Pollert, Jaroslav Kvapil and Antonín Fencln as a summer stage of the National Theatre. Performances were performed in the theater by the ensemble of the National Theatre. At the time of its creation, it was the largest natural theater in Europe with a capacity of 9,526 seats on wooden benches, while it could accommodate another eight thousand standing spectators. The natural Prague stage had an underground warehouse for scenery, including dressing rooms and a space for the orchestra. The total playing area covered 4000 square meters. The summer scene had great acoustics. Its success was an inspiration for similar summer theaters in other parts of Czechoslovakia. In Prague, a natural theater was created in Krč. It was played here, with the exception of the First World War, until 1922, when the successful theater was stopped for economic reasons. A total of 16 productions were staged during the theater's existence. Later, trees were planted here, and an orchard was established in the auditorium. In 2005, opera and theater enthusiast Jana Divišová and her friend, opera singer Renée Nachtigallová, succeeded in restoring the tradition of natural theater. The Bartered Bride was played the first year and the following year. In 2007 and 2008 Rusalka, in 2009 the opera Jakobín, a year later the opera Libuše. In 2011, the audience could see Dalibor, a year later Hubička, in 2013 the Bartered Bride again, followed in subsequent years by the following operas: Čert a Kača, Rusalka, Dvě vdovy, Jakobín and last year Bartered Bride again. I hope you like this song and thank you for listening and subscribing to my channel. Do you really like it?
