Gobelins Motivation Video Master Application 2024 /ACCEPTED/

DETAILS BELOW : I submitted this videos to the Gobelins as part of my master application in 2024. Applicants have to provide a motivation video like this one and also a portfolio demoreel. You can find the demoreel I submitted on my channel as well with the attached details. If you want more detail on the motivation video you can read the informations below :) DISCLAIMER : These informations are from the 2024 Master application and may change ! It is all MY experience and this video is by no mean the only example to follow ! To enter Gobelins's Master of Arts in Character Animation and Animated Filmmaking, the applicants have to make two videos (motivation and demoreel). Here are the things the motivation video must show (from the application form) : "The candidate's professional project" -"Reasons for choosing this course" -"Suitability of the project with the training objectives" -Other criteria of general quality (oral expression, video etc) It had to be 2 minutes and needs at least one part in English, or entirely English like I did here. The due date was the 29th of February 2024. A month later, applicants knew if they were selected or not to pass the Oral exam which occured in late April. IMPORTANT NOTICE : This video is NOT an average example of what the students usually provide ! I was really motivated and filmed myself in multiple places. I took the time to edit it and added pictures of my personal work. This is NOT required !!! Most students simply talk in front of their camera for 2 min ! Some animate it, some draw. I've heard that a student filmed a washing machine for his video. You can be creative but your face has to show at some point. You can keep it very simple or go crazy ! What I think is important is talk about yourself and why you want to enter the school. I personally chose to talk about my personal project but it could be something else for you !
