How to Center Line a Saddle Tree

In this video, I show you some of the very first steps that I take when starting a new saddle build. The first thing I do to a new saddle tree is find a center line that I can then pull from and reference during the build to ensure that the finished saddle is as square as possible. To help accomplish this, I use a couple saddle jigs that my mentor taught me how to make during my apprenticeship. If you are starting your first saddle or have been building for a while, you might find this video helpful in your shop. I have also created a pattern pack to cut out the guess work for making a set of these jigs for yourself. The pattern pack is simple but gives you the shapes and sizes of these jigs that you can use to cut them out of some scrap skirting leather so that you have a set hanging on your bench.
