Hi guys, today I’m meeting someone special for lunch. My dentist, Dr Blanche Themudo. She is quite a passionate foodie, just like me and Maria and she knows all kinds of gems in our local area which we don’t even know about. So today she’s taking me to a place called Fernando in Seraulim, just the other side of the road from Benaulim. Dr Blanche said the food is like home cooking, so I’m very excited and looking forward to a home cooked lunch. On the Margao-Colva road, if coming from the Colva side after Vaz liquor shop there is a speedbreaker. If you come from Margao also, there is a speedbreaker at this junction, just after the petrol pump. Here we turn into Per Seraulim, a ward of Colva. Follow the village road carefully. It is narrow and has curves and blind corners. When you come to Ambika Supermarket on the right, slow down. Fernando is right opposite. Google Maps location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Brdw21uj7Hyy2... Uncle Fernando does the serving and Aunty Renny does the cooking. They are a hardworking husband and wife team. These small village joints are the places where you get the best food. We tried crumb fried beef cutlets, rechead prawns and fish thali. We ordered urac and they gave us a lovely plate of tor (pickled raw mango slices) along with it. The beef cutlet had an amazing aroma and home made taste. I’ve had lot of beef cutlet in this area and in Margao but I never had as good as this. The rechead prawns were sweet and succulent. Fernando's fish thali had prawn curry, chicken green masala, salad, mango chutney, tendli bhaji and rechead bangdo. And rice, of course. First time I saw a fish thali which had chicken also, and seasonal raw mango chutney. You have two options in rice. They have boiled rice (parboiled rice/ukde xitt) also. A lot of people say on my channel that everywhere you go you have fish thali. But they don't understand that when you have fish thali, you don't really feel like you’re eating out. Because it’s not possible to eat out so frequently. Thanks to Dr Blanche, great tip coming your way. Fernando and Renny’s place in Seraulim. Just to die for home food. Must try Thank you so much Dr Blanche for introducing me to this amazing place in our neighbourhood Music by: https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/?...
