#CrystalMoselle is by no means a stranger to directing given her most recent project on writing, directing, and producing the HBO hit series, “Betty,” which is the latest film in her cinematic universe focusing on the female skater community in NYC. The San Francisco-born director is behind the teen drama, “Skate Kitchen” and the short film, “That One Day,” which she was approached for by the Italian Luxury brand, Miu Miu, for its “Women’s Tales” series — also containing the works of #AgnèsVarda, #AvaDuVernay, #MirandaJuly and #DakotaFanning. Her call to fame; however, came through her documentary, “The Wolfpack,” which made its debut at the 2015 #SundanceFilmFestival, winning the Documentary Grand Jury Prize. During our conversation with Crystal, among other things, ODDA found out what got her hooked on directing films, how her debut documentary film changed her career trajectory and what she learned from the female skater community? #ODDAdigital
