Burglary at La Mesa Storage Facility Leads to Two Arrests, K9 Bite

La Mesa, CA — Two suspects were taken into custody Saturday night following a burglary at a StorQuest self-storage facility in La Mesa, where music equipment was reported stolen and one suspect was bitten by a police K9 during a search operation. La Mesa Police responded to the facility at 8265 Commercial Street at approximately 10:09 p.m. on July 19. According to La Mesa Police, one storage unit was found broken into, with stolen items including speakers and other music-related gear. Officers apprehended one male and one elderly female suspect. A vehicle parked outside the facility was also found to contain stolen property. During a search of the storage units, a police K9 bit the female suspect. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been released. A witness at the scene reported seeing two other vehicles leave the area before officers made the arrests. La Mesa PD confirmed they are investigating those vehicles as part of the ongoing case.
