Part 1 of the Crochet portrait tutorial by Rhiartsy - eye

Hi I'm Rhianne and this is my 1st attempt at making a tutorial for those who would like to learn how to freeform crochet a portrait. I'm basing this portrait loosely on a sketch of mine of no one in particular so even if yours looks different to mine, that's perfectly fine! Remember this is still freeform, and your unique touches will make it your own and all the more special. The portrait itself will be a basic one, I'm easing myself in, as I become more comfortable filming, perhaps I will be more courageous with the next portrait! I'm teaching myself how to teach! When I filmed the 1st 3 tutorials I had Instagram in mind, so I apologise for the format! the rest of the tutorial will be filmed landscape 😉 I'm using US terms. You'll also need to know the basics for crochet, this is not suitable for beginners. For this tutorial you'll need: 2mm hook (or your preferred size) I'm using DK yarn, I can't remember the brand sorry. Just choose colours that are a similar weight yarn and you'll be fine.
