Poverty often forces women in coastal communities across Ghana to give up their children to work in the fishing industry. But in Winneba, a program run by the Ghanaian non-profit, Challenging Heights, is helping women preserve and sell fish, making it possible for them to earn enough money to keep their families together. Challenging Heights provided the community with a cold store freezer, which addressed many of the issues that come with fishing, a seasonal livelihood susceptible to changes in the weather. Women had a guaranteed supply of fish available locally and fisherfolk had a place to preserve large catches of fish. But their cold store freezer is broken beyond repair and, with their economic sustenance at risk once again, the women of Winneba may be forced to give up their children to the fishing industry. Will you donate towards the purchase of a new cold store? Find out how: http://bit.ly/yt-end-child-trafficking
