INGREDIENTS: 500 g beef mince 2 garlic cloves 1 large onion 900 g spaghetti sauce 1 beef stock cube Pinch of dried oregano 400 g ziti, macaroni or tortellini 200 g grated mozzarella 150 g grated Parmesan STEP 1: MAKE THE SAUCE Heat a little oil in a pan, then add the mince with a good pinch of pepper and fry until brown. Next add the onion and garlic and cook for a couple of minutes. Add the tomato sauce, 125 ml water, crumble in the stock cube and add the oregano. STEP 2: COOK THE PASTA While the sauce is simmering away, add your pasta to a pan of boiling salted water and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside. STEP 3: ASSEMBLE THE ZITI Lightly grease a baking dish, then add 1/4 of the beef mixture followed by half of the pasta and give it a mix, then align the pasta so all the tubes are facing in the same direction. Next add half the Parmesan and mozzarella. Cover with the remaining pasta and sauce and bake covered in tin foil for 20 minutes. STEP 4: BAKE WITH THE FOIL OFF Remove the foil and add the remaining cheese and a good grind of pepper. Return it to the oven un-covered for another 10 minutes.
