The Sega Genesis port of Mortal Kombat was developed by Probe Software and published by Arena Entertainment (in North America and Europe) in 1993 and by Acclaim Japan for the Japanese market in 1994. Shang Tsung 13:26 Ending SCORPION PLAYTHROUGH Scorpion is introduced as a mysterious ninja. His story is much more expanded in the later game. In MK1, not much information is shared, other than he shows distrust and hatred toward Sub-Zero, hinting that the two ninjas’ clan is in opposition. His fatality was infamous at the time, because it revealed that Scorpion is revenant and not a human anymore. Scorpion has two special moves. His projectile is his spear, but unlike most projectile, it does minimal damage. However, when he throws it at his opponent, he brings him closer to himself, causing him to be stunned. This allows Scorpion to have a free hit. He is also famous for his “Get over here” or “Come here” line that he shouts when he successfully catches his opponent with the spears. In the Sega Genesis port, he only keeps his first line. His second special move is his famed Teleport Punch which moves him on the opposite side of the screen, hitting his opponent with his jump punch. Scorpion fatality is one of the few fatalities that was left intact in the Sega Genesis port. He will reveal his skull and breathe fire at his opponent, causing them to burn into a skeleton. Despite having a unique skull, he will have the same skeleton sprite as the other character if the fatality is performed against himself. Scorpion has some advantage against the CPU. He can do a damaging combo which consist of a jump kick, spear and uppercut. He also has an infinite combo that can be done in the corner. To do it, the player must uppercut his opponent, quickly perform a high punch and immediately the spear right after. This sequence can be repeated over and over but require quick reflexes. His jump kick and his roundhouse kick have high reach. His teleport punch, however, is often blocked. As a side note, a CPU Scorpion or Reptile will never perform the Teleport Punch move in any circumstance. TAS tools were used in this playthrough. Cage is strong against the CPU. His move is fast, and his air move has priority over most moves. His projectile is also fast as well as his uppercut. His downside is his Shadow Kick, which can be easily countered. He can do many combos, including infinite jump punch in the corner or using his shadow kick as a combo ender.
