We do not support unnecessary handling of wildlife, but Tony had a "human moment" when he decided to give his little seal a quick neck scratch. The rescuer first tried to push the seal towards the ocean once he climbed out of the rescue net, but the seal was a bit disoriented and Tony wanted to comfort the animal. Even quick seal rescues are highly stressful to the animal, especially if the entanglement had caused discomfort or pain.
