Punjab has introduced a landmark legal reform that promises to protect millions of innocent citizens from the decades-old ordeal of illegal land grabbing, coercion, and fraudulent property claims. In this episode of Paish Raft, Muhammad Ishfaq congratulates the people of Punjab for the Punjab Protection of Ownership of Immovable Property Ordinance 2025 — a game-changing law designed to deliver fast, transparent and effective justice. Under this new system, Dispute Resolution Committees (DRCs) will be formed in every district, with the authority of a civil court. The Rawalpindi administration has already notified its DRC, which includes senior officials such as DC Hassan Waqar Cheema, CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani, SSP Operations Kashif Zulfiqar and others. Citizens facing property disputes, illegal occupation, fraudulent transfers, or coercive possession can now file an application with the Deputy Commissioner’s special cell, along with supporting documents such as ownership proof, FIR (if any), and other evidence. The DRC must attempt to resolve the case within 90 days, with powers to summon parties, seal disputed property, and even order arrests. If the dispute is resolved, recommendations go to a special Tribunal, headed by a senior judge, which will issue the final decree ensuring rightful possession. If unresolved, the Tribunal takes over and must decide the matter within another 90 days. Appeals lie only before a two-member bench of the High Court. The law also brings strict punishments: – Illegal occupiers: 5–10 years imprisonment – Aiders & abettors: 1–5 years + fine – Fake/frivolous applicants: 25% property value fine + 1–3 years This episode is crucial for anyone whose land, home, plot or apartment is under dispute or illegally occupied. Please share this video with your friends and family so more people can benefit from the new law.
