Today's tutorial is a simple three-colour painting, using a palette knife to create this lovely semi-abstract scene, inspired by the South Downs in late summer. Equipment list: today I'm using Saunders Waterford watercolour paper, size a quarter imperial, Hot Press texture, weight 140lb. My colours today are: Sap Green, Vandyke Brown, and Permanent Yellow. The green and brown are both from Winsor & Newton Cotman tube range, and the Permanent Yellow is my own hand made paint from the Davidson's Pigment range (restock coming soon!!). I'm also using a fine water spray/mister, and a small palette knife from the Jackson's Art Studio Essentials range. My brushes today are: a large Daler Rowney flat Aquafine 'Skyflow' flat wash brush, size 2 inches; a Pro Arte 'Sword' liner brush in size Small; a Princeton Neptune synthetic small round brush size 4; a Matthew Palmer Tree & Texture brush size Large; and a Daler Rowney fan brush size Small for spattering. Thank you for watching, and happy painting all!
