In this humorous yet insightful TEDx Talk, leadership coach and former US Army Sergeant shares her personal journey of leadership failures and triumphs through her powerful framework, "The Four Sights of Visionary Leadership." Drawing from her experiences in both the military and corporate worlds, she introduces the four key elements every leader needs: Hindsight, Insight, Oversight, and Foresight. With relatable stories, practical takeaways, and a cheeky twist, she helps middle managers navigate leadership with clarity, self-awareness, and a vision for the future. Whether you're leading a team or just yourself, this talk will inspire you to lead with purpose! Dr. Rashidah Leverett is an Author, Speaker, Teacher, and Certified Coach. She served in the United States Army from 1992-1999 as a Unit Supply Specialist and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. After leaving the Army in 1999, Dr. Leverett worked for Walmart Stores, Inc. from 2001 to 2010, where she began as an overnight cashier and rose to Assistant Store Manager. Dr. Leverett left Walmart to pursue a career in Logistics with Lockheed-Martin, Inc. where she traveled to Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2011, Dr. Leverett began her career in higher education as an Adjunct Professor for Miller-Motte Technical College in Clarksville, TN. She was promoted to Director of Education in 2015 at the Madison, TN campus. In 2016, Miller-Motte closed its campuses so Dr. Leverett focused on completing her doctoral dissertation while starting her online coaching business. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
