An overview of the current work being done to restore floodplain function in the Lower Kittitas Reach of the Yakima River in collaboration with Kittitas County. Kittitas County is at the forefront of working at the intersection of rivers, water supply, and communities. Our presenter, Water Resource Manager Arden Thomas, focuses on securing reliable water for local communities while also leading and supporting flood alleviation projects that reduce flood risk and improve habitat conditions along local rivers and streams. Arden is especially passionate about collaborative, locally driven approaches that help rivers function more naturally, while strengthening long-term resilience.
