Update: This was achieved before the 'Thank You' Update. Since then, overall damage in our builds has been reduced (hidden damage on some pictos and weapons). The fighting strats themselves still work but will likely underperform on damage if you keep stats exactly the same My first sub 2 in this category and new World Record! Also the first sub 1:59 ever on console. For anyone curious how this run would compare to PC, I would say this is a low 1:50 or high 1:49 IGT (current PC WR is low 1:49). This run was practically flawless with all of the big RNG timesaves I could get. There's no single mistake that cost me more 10 seconds except for not getting the best Dualliste RNG (about ~22% chance to save 20 seconds). There is of course of lot of small RNG timeloss based on an enemy doing some longer attacks compared to others. One of the biggest of those examples is getting Monoco's longest attack during the fight against him adding about 7 seconds. My menuing was really good for my standards, but there is probably a few seconds or more lost on every big Act 2 menu compared to what's possible. This is a Speedrun on the hardest difficulty from a fresh file (No NG+ setups). Expert Difficulty makes the dodging/parrying windows a lot tighter requiring mastery of most enemy attacks in this category. We also take more damage making us susceptible to being 1 or 2 hits away from death constantly which stresses the importance of being perfect everywhere. And most importantly, bosses have much more health (is usually about 87% more but it varies depending on the boss) meaning there's strategy to maximizing our damage going into fights and limiting slow enemy attack animations. The extended boss health is what diversifies this category the most between difficulties and forces us to conduct a route that is forced to endure several turns of every fight. It's also import to note that with these large health pools, the damage cap is still set at 9999, meaning we have to be strategic with our move setups and turn order to squeeze the most damage out of multi-hit moves. This run was performed on PS5 on August 25th, 2025 with patch 57661 (can see the patch number in the bottom right at the start of the video). All console runs are performed on the latest patch.
