The battle was a strategic check to immediate British ambitions in India and a shock to British military prestige. Battle of Chillianwala was led by Raja Sher Singh Attariwala, the son of Chattar Singh Attariwala, who was Governor of Hazara, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
