NIR K355-APT Welder & 111 Class GM 111 Shunting at Ballymena + Running light at Antrim. 26/4/22

Shunting at Ballymena P Way yard on the 26th April 2022 with NIR's Welding Machine K355-APT & 111 Class GM 111 Great Northern. One of the vehicles seen being shunted by 111 is Tamper No.5 which had not moved for several years before this movement. It is believed No.5 was last used in 2013 during the Coleraine to Londonderry track renewal project. Since filming No.5 has been transferred to the Downpatrick & County Down Railway for preservation. Also seen in the video is 4000 Class DMU 4014 working a GVS to Londonderry service. Following the shunt 111 ran light engine to York Road this was her first mainline run since 2018 as she has been based in Ballymena since then as a shunting loco. Sadly 2022 has seen very little 111 class action. With the locos now seeing very little use it does make you wonder what is the future for the 3 members of the class.
