Three Beauties of the North East – Part 3 | Mawlynong – Journey to the Cleanest Village #Mawlynong #Meghalaya #CleanestVillageInAsia #NortheastIndia #TravelIndia #WahNiriangFalls #KhasiCulture #BambooCraft #EcoTourism #IncredibleIndia #BangladeshView #LivingRootBridge #Dawki #HillTravel #SustainableLiving In this episode, we travel to Mawlynong in Meghalaya, famously known as the cleanest village in Asia. Our journey from Sohra–Shillong road through Laitlingok takes us past pine forests, bamboo landscapes, and dusty hill roads under construction. We stop at the beautiful Wah Niriang Falls, a perennial waterfall fed by the Rymben River, before reaching Mawlynong — lovingly called “God’s Own Garden” by its residents. Cleanliness here is not an award but a way of life. From bamboo dustbins and composting practices to eco-friendly skywalks and traditional Khasi huts, the village showcases sustainable living at its best. We also visit the historic Church of the Epiphany (built in 1902), witness the deep love for football among the locals, and experience the breathtaking bamboo skywalk overlooking the Bangladesh plains. Mawlynong is not just a destination — it is a lesson in community living, culture, and harmony with nature. In the next episode, we explore the living root bridge and the Dawki border.
