2006 Chevy Uplander right rear wheel banging noise caused by missing brake caliper pin bushings

Hi everybody, and welcome to my "stevenofpa" YouTube Channel! This video shows you what it's like to see a potential area of concern when diagnosing a clunking noise that's coming from the rear right side area on this 2006 Chevy Chev Chevrolet Uplander, similar to Pontiac Buick GL8 Buick Terraza Pontiac Montana SV6 Saturn Relay. As it turns out, this vehicle has a loose rear caliper that was making a banging noise when driving down the road and hit a bump. Wow! Inside the rear brake caliper slide pins are small rubber bushings that are designed to absorb shock and movement motion of the caliper moving fore and aft forwards and backwards when applying the brakes and then letting them go getting off the brake pedal. In this case, the bushings stop the clicking noise that happens when the brakes are applied. But someone took them out, probably because they are hard to get back in when they are removed sometimes. But this can let the caliper be wiggly and loose and make a knocking sound instead. So this is what we think happened. You can grab the brake hose or line and wiggle the caliper and hear a clanking sound, so that's what we will fix. A new rear brake hardware kit (which includes the bushings) fixes up this van. Awesome! so, this video doesn't really show you how to fix exhaust banging noise directly on this vehicle, but it does show you what's happening, and offers some suggestions on how you may choose to go about making a durable repair.
