The ASDRP Summer 2022 Semester Research Symposium and Expo showcases some of the original scientific findings of 625+ high school students, who conducted research across 80+ projects in a wide array of STEM fields. Students come from throughout Bay Area, across the U.S., and internationally! The Symposium features students presenting the research they completed throughout the summer during their participation in ASDRP. Rohit Mamidipaka, Sanjana Srivatsa, Aaryaansh Gaind, Sarveshan Saravanan, and Aanika Jain present their project "EEG Signal Analysis Using Machine Learning to Streamline EEG Readings" at the Summer 2022 Virtual Blitz Talks Symposium and Expo. Abstract: EEG or electroencephalogram is an activity used to record nerve signals coming from the brain. These signals have the potential to predict behavioral disorders and provide essential information about how the brain functions. However, EEG readings are often filled with unnecessary information such as muscle movement and signals from the environment. In an effort to streamline the process of filtering and extracting information from the readings, we hope to employ the use of machine learning. Our presentation will show the progress we have made in this process as well as discuss our future plan for further research.
