Fill out our enquiry form: https://forms.office.com/r/L9KdLaE7c1... to let us know what you thought of our short film, so we can keep track of the impact we have made and how we can improve. See Me Too is a film aimed at educating professionals who work in young people's services about the negative effects of racism on the mental health of young people from minority ethnic backgrounds. We worked with young people in Hull to create this animation based on their real life experiences of racism and racial prejudice, and how this has affected their mental wellbeing. These are true stories that have affected everyone who took part. The film is about the negative consequences of racial prejudice, particularly when it leads to dismissive support for young people of minority ethnic backgrounds facing mental health struggles. Our main goal is to help professionals, who work in young people's services, to see young people as individuals first — not defined by their race, but as people facing struggles. This is about recognising that the challenges they experience are not tied to their racial identity, but to their unique experiences as individuals. The film was created in collaboration with Nothing About Us Without Us, and supported by funding from Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership. With this film, young people want to send a message of empowerment, urging others to stand up against racism through compassion and understanding. See Me Too also serves as a tool to help professionals who work in young people's services to reflect on how they can better support young people from minority ethnic backgrounds, offering practical advice on how to approach care in an inclusive and empathetic manner. The film was produced with My Pockets, an award winning production company based in East Yorkshire. For more information on how to access the film or support the cause, please contact us at [email protected] We want you to learn, to listen, to get involved, and to act. We are seeking more support to help us create more resources. If you or your organisation can help, your donation and support will go a long way to help our young people achieve their vision of building an inclusive society that works for all.
