To minimize mud, consider these factors: -Quality of your paint: is it craft paint, or a higher quality tube paint? -Opacity: is your paint transparent, semi-transparent, or opaque? -Paint consistency: is your paint thin, medium, or thick? -Your technique: how much are you “working” and moving the paint? -The colors themselves: are they coming from opposite the color wheel, or not? -How are you adding your colors to the pour? When picking colors for a pour, I like to have: -A main focus color -One or more supporting colors -A dark and light contrast color -One or more metallic colors -A “pop” color or two (but not tons) There can be some overlap, for example, your dark or light colors could also count as your supporting colors, and a metallic could count as a pop color or a light contrast color.
