Review Laphroaig PX Cask Jason Debly

This is a review of Laphroaig PX Cask, a single malt Scotch whisky which is only available at Travel Retail. While there is no age statement, do not worry this whisky is a balanced and enchanting dram for the Islay fan who likes sherry notes too in his or her dram. Bottled at an ABV of 48% assures you that this whisky packs considerable punch, but not so over the top that there is a burn or raw alcohol flavor. This whisky is suprisingly drinkable at this high ABV. Add some water (ie. half a teaspoon) and it becomes very approachable for the person who prefers gentler flavors. This whisky is called "PX" as it is an abbreviation Pedro Ximenez which is a type of sweet sherry. The Laphroaig whisky aged in these casks of American oak enables the spirit to take on notes of dry red fruit and wine. I really like this. Well balanced too.
