Boortsog is a traditional baking of Mongolian and Turkic nations. As a rule, it is cooked of unleavened or yeasted dough, of different shapes. Boortsogs are cooked for traditional holidays but sometimes it can be cooked and served as a dessert for tea with jam for example. Please yourself and family with easy and very tasty baking. ❤️ If you like the recipe and want to say thanks, you can buy us a coffee - http://buymeacoffee.com/alwaysyummy ✅ Ingredients: • all-purpose flour – 1,1 lb | 500 g • milk – 3 fl oz | 150 ml (or water) • kefir – 7 fl oz | 200 ml (or buttermilk) • dry yeast – 1,5 tsp • butter – 1.5 oz | 40 g or 2½ tbsp of vegetable oil • frying vegetable oil – 1,2 pt | 600 ml • sugar – 2 tbsp • salt – ½ tsp ✅ You will need: • pan • pastry board • bowl • rolling pin 📙 Preparation: 1. Combine the kefir of room temperature, warm milk, melted butter, sugar, dry yeast and salt. 2. Sieve the flour into a deep bowl, make a deepening in the center, pour in the prepared mixture and knead a soft and a bit sticky dough. 3. Cover with a towel or lid, leave in a warm place for 1 hour or into the oven at 120°F | 50°C for 30 minutes. 4. As soon as the dough rises twice, roll out a circle 0,2 in | 5-8 mm thick. 5. Cut it into squares, triangles or any form you like. 6. Cover the cut boortsogs with a towel for 10-20 minutes to let them rise. 7. In a deep pan or saucepan heat frying vegetable oil over high heat in the amount of free floating of boortsogs in it. 8. As soon as it heated up reduce the heat to medium-high and fry stirring the boortsogs on both sides until golden for 2-3 minutes. 9. Take out on a paper towel to absorb extra oil. 10. To your taste sprinkle the boortsogs with powdered sugar and serve to tea or coffee as a dessert. 👍 Advices: 1. Milk can be changed for water with the same quality of taste. 2. Butter can be changed for vegetable oil. 3. It is not recommended to use heavy cream as a dough may become tough and nit fluffy. 4. Dry yeast can be replaced by a pinch of soda or baking powder. 5. If you are frying a big amount of boortsogs, add vegetable oil on need. 6. If you prefer more sweet taste, take 3 tbsp of sugar. от
