This can make clinical decisions tough, especially when you’re trying to see if there’s progression of glaucoma or if the patient is just not paying attention to the test. On top of that, what seems to be a routine visual field that you are ordering may end up suggesting something more sinister, like a hemianopsia from a stroke or tumor. Then you’re left with having to decide if the visual field warrants an immediate MRI, or if the visual field defect is unreliable.
