1984: D&H Train GV-2 on Old Lackawanna with NYS&W Leader & LV 414

This second film in our Genesee & Wyoming Predecessors Series is of Delaware & Hudson train GV-2 with a block of empty salt hoppers, destination = the Greigsville, NY interchange with the G&W. 7 January 1984 featured a Susquehanna ALCO C-430 leader (No. 3002) and a collective of the patchwork locomotives that made up D&H consists on the regular during an era of transition and steady rotation of foster parents for 'The Bridge Line.' Two of these locomotives are known to still exist, but the entirety of the former Lackawanna Buffalo Division main line as shown here is but a memory on Betamax. At Greigsville/Retsof, GV-2's pushers are tacked onto to the front for the climb 'out of the hole' with a heavy block of salt loads. This allows us to enjoy former Lehigh Valley ALCO C-420 414, still in her full Cornell red paint scheme and with her original Nathan P-2 airchime in full effect.
