Today we have a VERY destroyed 6.4L Ford Superduty Powerstroke Turbodiesel to teardown. This is out of a 2008 Ford F250 with about 230k miles. I've seen a LOT of 6.4L Powerstroke cores and they are usually this bad or worse, but why? How do they run long enough to cause this kind of damage? The core value of a rebuildable 6.4 Powerstroke is VERY high, and I think that's because most of the bad engines I've seen are not rebuildable, like this one. This engine was pulled to replace with a cummins, and the previous owner chopped the lower part of the oil pan off. The 6.4 Powerstroke is built on similar architecture to its predecessor and makes 350hp and 650lbft of torque. It was only available for 3 model years in the Ford Superduty trucks.
