Many a times it so happens that we decide to make chat at home and then we realize that there is no chat chutney at home. So today we will learn to make both sweet and spicy chutney that is sweet tamarind chutney and spicy green mint chutney. These chutneys get nice color and texture and the color is retained if you follow this recipe. You can store these chutneys in freeze too. You can try these recipes at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients: For Sweet Tamarind Chutney • 1/2 cup Tamarind • 1/2 cup Khahur / Dates • Water • 1 tsp red chili powder • 1/4 tsp Chat masala • Rock salt to taste • 1 tsp roasted Cumin powder • 1/4 cup Gudh / Jaggery For Spicy Green chutney • 1 cup Coriander leaves • 1/4 cup Mint leaves • 2~3 Garlic cloves • 2~3 Green chilies • 1 tbsp roasted Chana dal • Rock salt to taste • Lemon juice • 3~4 tsp Water • 1 tsp Oil Method: For Sweet Tamarind Chutney • Remove the seeds of the tamarind and dates. • Cut the dates into pieces and transfer both tamarind and dates into a cooker pot. • Add water just enough for them to get soaked and transfer the pot into the cooker. • Close the lid and cook on medium heat until 1 whistle. • Take the pot out and transfer the mixture into a blender jar. • Blend cooked tamarind and dated together into fine paste. • Strain the mixture into a pan. • Turn on the gas and add red chili powder, chat masala, rock salt, roasted cumin powder, gudh. • Mix well and cook for about 5-6 minutes on medium heat. • Turn off the gas and sweet tamarind chutney is all ready. • You can store this chutney in a glass container for about 2-3 months.
